Peter Liston and Matthew Moseley met in the army over 12 years ago, and would undergo a journey of entrepreneurship with The Entourage that would see them hire over 30 people, and start two highly successful, 7-figure businesses.
Upon leaving the military, Pete and Matthew heard news of changes to legislation related to child safety devices in strata buildings. They saw an opportunity and shortly after, Secure Windows was born.
Their army training and experience gave them the initial idea to start the business, as well as strong acumen for operations and planning, but no one had taught them how to successfully run and manage a growing business.
In fact, they grew their business all the way to $350,000 in revenue through pure grit, determination and improvisation. But they were exhausted, and knew that they needed to do something different to take it to the next level.
Pete & Matt level up
Pete and Matt joined the Accelerate program in 2017. With the backing of the program, and their team of business coaches and advisors, Pete and Matt were able to scale Secure Windows to $3 million in revenue, with a staff of 25, all within 9 months of joining The Entourage.
Pete and Matt were acknowledged for Secure Windows’ success in 2018, when they won the Veteran’s Employer Of The Year, for small to medium-sized businesses. Not only were they recognised for Secure Window’s growth as a business, but for giving back to the veterans' community by hiring over 7 veterans, and sponsoring the 2018 ‘Prince’s Lead Your Own Business’ program for entrepreneurs within the Defence Force. Such an achievement embodied Pete and Matt living and breathing the Vision, Mission, Values mantra, a key component of the Accelerate program.
The military gave us operations, planning and HR. But we were really missing cash flow, sales, marketing and digital integration. That’s what The Entourage offered us.
The journey continues
After 6-9 months with The Entourage, Pete and Matt were able to act on one of their long term plans: to create a second business called Trust The Process. They were able to leverage the skills they learned in the military, and consult other businesses in improving their operations and processes.
12 months after joining The Entourage, Peter and Matthew were able to rapidly grow the revenue and size of their business, even forming a second business in the process! As business owners who have gone from strength to strength over the course of building two successful businesses, Pete and Matt are enjoying running Trust The Process as true entrepreneurs, as well as spending plenty of time giving back to the veterans and Entourage community.
