What it's like stepping into a family business 6 months before COVID lockdowns

Would you agree that some industries were hit harder than the rest during the lockdowns of 2020 and 2021? It would've taken a lot of innovation and leadership to keep the businesses in those industries afloat, and to start rebuilding it back up this year. But imagine having to do all of that having just stepped into a business a mere 6 months prior and having 0 business experience on top of that! Well, that's exactly what happened to one of our Elevate Members at The Entourage.

Montana Rosekelly, the Director of Operations at Planet Fitness Newcastle, had just stepped into her father's business and had just started to achieve good results with the help of The Entourage when COVID shut everything down. How did she not only keep the business afloat but suffer no significant membership loss (industry standard was 10-20% loss during COVID) but also hire an extra 10 employees in 2021?

This 'Making It Happen with Members' bonus episode for Season 3 of The Make It Happen Show features a spotlight on some of the incredible business journeys of our Members at The Entourage. A raw and authentic look into business owners just like you, this is not one to miss. Check it out.

"It's important to talk to people and demystify the version of entrepreneurs that are cookie cutter — front cover of Forbes, picket fence, and two dogs. There's so many people who are actually just like me!"

Entourage on point again!

Adz Rodger

Great content again from The Entourage! Particularly like the 1st episode and the points Tim Fung made about making sure you make time to map out the future and don't get stuck on day to day 'work', as well as the observation that you really need to be strategic about your people management and not just try to save money. Two awesome take homes I have already taken action on!

Well this was one of the best things I’ve heard in a while. I’m by no means the target demographic, having zero business or entrepreneurial experience at all. Luckily the advice given for business growth and success is remarkably applicable to personal growth and success. Loved the conversational style, by the end of the podcast I felt like I knew both Tims personally, which is a great mark of engagement. And I loved hearing about the humble beginnings of Airtasker from the founder himself. Give this a listen if you’re craving a bit of personal or professional inspiration.
